OK...I'm adding more homemade goodies in my Christmas baskets. I love to bake sweets, but I don't really eat them. Well, that's probably because I taste everything while I'm making them. I've already gained 5 lbs just from taste testing!!!

This year, as it has been every year, I'm making gift baskets filled with homemade goodies for my family, friends and neighbors...and my baking is in full swing. Right this very moment, my home is filled with Christmas music softly playing softly in the background, the smell of yummy cookies baking in the oven and the garland surrounding my windows with little twinkling lights are shining brightly as if to say...

look at this house filled with love!

It's my favorite time of the year.

To those of you who have been sending positive energy and prayers for my baby Jenny, I have good new. After seeing her vet, I just need to adjust her diet to help her digestive issues, and she'll be taking imodium and some meds to help her keep her food down, but she's going to be fine for now. She might even make it to her 15th birthday in June!

It is said that "all things happen for a reason". I don't pretend to understand why some things happen, but rest in knowing that I am exactly where I'm supposed to be.

That said, I'm back in Dallas. My little "piece of paradise" turned out to not be paradise at all. Well, actually the place was, but it appeared that my landlord wanted more than a tenant.

After rejecting several of his advances and tolerating his retribution, (e.g., piles of dog poo at my front door, my trash can dumped at my back door, demands of an outrageous deposit..after already moving in..."Jenny could no longer be inside", demanding that he STOP peeking in my windows at night and wait until I'm home to come into my house) I called a few friends to help me pack back up (I hadn't fully finished unpacking!) and move back to Dallas. My garden will have to wait.

Life is unfair sometimes.

I so often say: "It's the little things in life...that make life worth living!"

I'm reminded every day of how TRUE this is.

Autumn colors falling from trees like weightless feathers, the sighting of Mr McGregor eating in my garden, a butterfly stopping by to taste the sweetness of my meadow flowers or the anticipation of sitting round a fire this weekend with people I love.

My prayer today is that you find joy and happiness in the little things in your lives. Sending positive energy your way, my loved ones!

Gammy has moved back to the country!

I can't tell you how long I've wanted to move back to the country. I've done it! Just a little east of Dallas is my "Piece of Paradise"! Needs a little TLC, but I can't wait to start working on it. Best of all... I'll have a vegetable garden next year. Already started amending the soil. Well, with a little help from my landlord who tilled it for me. WooHoo!

Of all the quotes in all the world, I happened across this one this morning... at a time in my life when I really needed to be reminded to stay focused on the things that I cannot change...for my own emotional health.

This was my brother's favorite quote. Thank you my angel... for the gentle reminder that I can't fix all problems in life, that some issues belong to others to deal with... and that you are still there watching over me. I love you Tim.

This vacation was supposed to be to Tuscany for my 50th birthday, but there were conflicts with some of the party, (Tuscany will have to wait until closer to the end of the year) so...Puerto Vallarta it is! I can handle it! >smile<

I plan of getting a massage on the beach!

I LOVE Mexico's sunsets!

maybe not scuba diving, but definitely snorkeling is on the agenda.
